Ford Unleashes Huge Power Upgrade For Bronco Raptor And Ranger Raptor
Ford’s Raptors are getting more velocity.
Ford is releasing a new power upgrade calibration for the Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor that adds some serious boost to their 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engines.
The dealer-installed software increases the Ranger Raptor’s engine output from 405 hp to 455 hp and from 430 lb-ft to 536 lb-ft, while the Bronco Raptor’s numbers move from 430 hp to 455 hp and 440 lb-ft to 536 lb-ft. Throttle response is also improved and the transmission gets a new shift schedule.
Ford didn’t announce any specific performance numbers, but the stock trucks can both accelerate to 60 mph in the 5.5-second range, so the extra torque should trim a few tenths off of that.

Both are covered by three-year/36,000-mile Ford Performance parts warranty and can be ordered online or via the Ford Pass app for $825, but there’s a way to get them at a discount price.
Ford is holding a Raptor Rally at the Ford Performance Racing School in Fairfield, Utah, on Sept. 21 for Raptor owners that’s a one-day off-road driving event priced at $500, but attendees get a 20% discount on Ford Performance parts that can be applied to the performance upgrade.

American Cars And Racing named the Ranger Raptor the US-Built Truck Of The YearTM thanks to the combination of high-speed off-road thrills and everyday practicality it delivers for the relatively affordable price of $57,215. The Bronco Raptor is priced at $91,930, but also comes standard with all of the important features.
This isn’t the first performance upgrade Ford has released this year. In early August it released a $995 over-the-air software upgrade for the electric Mustang Mach-E GT that increases its torque from 600 lb-ft to 700 lb-ft, dropping its 0-60 mph time from 3.8 seconds to 3.3-seconds.
