Ram has officially confirmed that the upcoming Ram 1500 REV all-electric pickup and the Ram 1500 Ramcharger plug-in hybrid pickup will both be built in Michigan.
The new models will be produced at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan that currently manufactures the conventional internal combustion engine Ram 1500 trucks.
The Ram 1500 REV is set to launch before the end of 2024 and the factory updates are well underway as part of a $406 million investment to support electric and plug-in hybrid truck production that includes the planned assembly of a Jeep Wagoneer plug-in hybrid at the nearby Warren Truck Assembly Plant.

“Gearing up to build our first-ever Ram electric truck and the range-extended version in Michigan is a meaningful moment of pride for our teams. With these investments supporting both Jeep and Ram, we’re adding innovations to our Michigan manufacturing footprint to support a multi-energy approach that is laser-focused on customer demand.”
The Ram 1500 REV will be offered in models with 350 miles and 500 miles of range while the Ram 1500 Ramcharger will feature an extended range hybrid powertrain that uses a V6 engine as a generator for trips that go beyond its 145-mile all-electric range. The Jeep Wagoneer will borrow the Ram 1500 Ramcharger’s powertrain and there are currently no plans for an all-electric model.

However, Jeep is planning to launch the electric midsize Wagoneer S this year and follow it with the Recon, which is a serious off-road model that is similar in spirit to the Wrangler that’s currently offered in a hybrid 4xe version.
