Ford keeps rolling out the retro.

Following the recent reveal of the throwback 2025 Bronco Free Wheeling model, which is largely a graphics package, Ford has revealed the Bronco Stroppe Special Edition, which tips its hat to the Bronco race trucks of the 1960s and 1970s.

It’s named after Bill Stroppe, who built the most legendary Broncos that conquered the Baja 1000 and other desert races in the first generation Bronco’s heyday.

Stroppe and Ford collaborated on a line of retail trucks that were built from 1971 through 1975, from which the the Stroppe Special Edition draws heavily for inspiration.

That includes a Code Orange, Oxford White and Atlas Blue color scheme that’s highlighted by a matte black hood meant to reduce glare under the desert sun.

The Stroppe Special Edition will only be offered as a two-door hardtop and gets a host of performance equipment. It comes with the Bronco’s 2.7-liter turbocharged V6, which is rated at 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque, and a modified version of the Bronco’s Sasquatch package. It has the HOSS 3.0 suspension system, but swaps the Sasquatch’s Bilstein shocks for a set of Fox Internal Bypass Dampers.

There are Code Orange accents throughout the cabin, which has a white dash insert that matches the grille, and Stroppe Special Edition badges on the inside and outside of the truck.

“We’ve been hinting at the return of a Bronco Stroppe Special Edition with our competition Broncos since returning to the Baja 1000 with the Bronco R in 2020,” North American Design Director Gordon Platto said in a news release. “That combination of Code Orange, Oxford White, and Atlas Blue, and matte black was chosen very deliberately on our race vehicles. It’s an iconic design and the history behind it is so important to the modern Bronco.”
