Ford F-Series Claims Best-Selling Truck Title For 48th-Straight Year
The F-Series keeps on on truckin’!
Ford has claimed victory in the 2024 truck sales race. While the final tally isn’t in, the automaker is confident that the F-Series will finish the year as the best-selling truck line for the 48th year in a row.
It will also be the 43rd consecutive year that the F-Series is the best-selling nameplate across all vehicle types.
“The enduring legacy of the F-Series is not just a result of our relentless pursuit of improvement but also a reflection of the trust between Ford, our dealers and customers,” Andrew Frick, President of Ford Blue said in a news release. “We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve our customers and are committed to continuing to earn their business every single day.”

Ford reported 685,777 F-Series deliveries through November, which was up .9% over the first 11th months of 2023. The total encompasses several trucks that range from the F-150 through the F-600, while the F-650 and F-750 medium duty models are excluded.

One footnote to Ford’s claim is that the combined sales of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra full-size trucks may beat the F-Series, as it has in recent years. The two GM models share a platform, but have unique branding and distinctive designs.
The breakout number that will be interesting to see when the full-year results are released after New Year’s Day is how the F-150 Lightning fared against the Tesla Cybertruck in the full-size electric truck segment. The F-150 Lightning held a lead in the early months of the year, but the Cybertruck came on strong later on. Ford officially delivered 28,313 F-150 Lightnings through November, but Cox Automotive estimates that Tesla shipped 28,250 Cybertrucks by the end of September.
