The USA’s Hennessey Venom F5 Supercar Has 2,031 Horsepower And ‘Oval’ Pistons Now
Now this is what you call fast and Fury-ous!
Hennessey has boosted the power of its Venom F5 supercar’s V8 engine to an astonishing 2031 hp, because the original 1,817 hp wasn’t enough for some customers.
“During the past three years we’ve delivered nearly 30 F5’s to clients all around the world,” CEO John Hennessey said. “Some of our owners requested even more power, which led us to develop the new Hennessey Venom F5 Evolution – the world’s most powerful internal combustion-powered hypercar.”
The Venom F5 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V8 that Hennessey calls the Fury. The company worked with racing engine specialist Ilmor Engineering to increase its output. Updates include new “oval-shaped” billet aluminum pistons, stronger connecting rods, titanium exhaust valves, lightweight valve covers and bigger fuel injectors. The only production cars with more power use electric motors to get it. Full details on the engine, including what the oval pistons are all about, will be revealed at a later date.

The Texas-built car has been renamed the Venom F5 Evolution and also gets a computer-controlled adaptive suspension and modified bodywork for improved aerodynamics. Changes include the addition of dive planes, wheel arch vents, a Gurney flap, a new front splitter and redesigned underbody. The innovation extends to a set of carbon fiber cupholders, the first offered on a Venom F5.
