This sure beats 6-7! Or 5-6.

Ram is extending the 10–year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty it kicked off as a promotion last June through the 2026 model year for all of its trucks and vans.

Sales of its full-size trucks increased after it went into effect, as did the amount of competitive trade-ins, which rose from 16% to 28% in a segment typically defined by brand loyalty.

“The extension underscores Ram’s commitment to quality and long-term value as nearly 80 percent of new truck loans now exceed five years, outpacing traditional 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty periods,” a Ram news release said.

Engine, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials and axles are covered, and the warranty applies to all retail and business purchases and leases, but not fleet purchases.

Ram pickup sales were up 7% in the fourth quarter to finish the year flat at 374,059, which puts it a distant third behind Chevrolet and Ford in the full-size truck race and just ahead of GMC. That’s still down significantly from the 633,694 set in 2019, when it offered a larger variety of pickups.

Ram is in the process of reintroducing V8 engines to the Ram 1500 lineup, which brand CEO Tim Kuniskis said he expects to account for 25%-40% of sales in 2026 if production can keep up with demand.

It also just launched an updated version of the Ram 1500 TRX high performance pickup, which had been discontinued in 2024, and the first diesel-powered Ram 2500 HD Power Wagon, although both are 2027 model year trucks.
