Josh Berry won the 75-lap Last Chance Qualifier for the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium from pole to advance to the Wednesday night main event along with Austin Cindric, who finished second.
Berry will start his No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing car in 21st alongside Cindric, while Alex Bowman will line up behind them through the provisional that awards the 23rd position to the driver who finished highest in the previous season’s standings that didn’t make the race through the Last Chance Qualifier.
Michael McDowell grabbed the lead on the first lap, but was sent to the back for jumping the start and could only get back to 11th by the end.
Cindric battled with Corey Lajoie and AJ Allmendinger in the closing laps, until Allmendinger ran into the back of him in the final turn, pushing him into Lajoie, which gave him the lead for the final run to the checkered flag.
Kyle Larson will start the main event on pole next to William Byron on the front row when the Cook Out Clash begins at 6 p.m. ET on Fox.
