Chevrolet has confirmed the return of the Corvette Grand Sport in a grand way.

A 2027 Corvette Grand Sport joined four previous generations on a parade lap around Sebring International Raceway ahead of the IMSA Twelve Hours of Sebring.

It was just a sneak peek of the car ahead of its full reveal on March 26, but Chevy said it will be powered by a next generation V8 related to the one coming to GM’s trucks next year.

Official details haven’t been released, but the engine is expected to be a 6.7-liter V8 rated at at least 535 hp in the Corvette, although it is not yet known if the Stingray will also be getting it in 2027.

The car at Sebring was painted Admiral Blue with a white stripe and red hash marks on the rear fender. The Grand Sport typically bridges the gap between the base Stingray and Z06 in terms of track performance.

Several outlets, including GM Authority, have reported that there will also be a Grand Sport X hybrid that will replace the Corvette E-Ray. It will be equipped with the the same 186 hp front-mounted electric motor giving it all-wheel drive and a potential combined 721 hp.

The last time Chevy offered a Corvette Grand Sport was 2017-2019 when it was based on the seventh-generation Corvette and powered by a 460 hp 6.2-liter V8.
