The 2027 Subaru Getaway’s name isn’t meant to evoke high speed chases, but it would probably do pretty well in one.
The all-electric three-row SUV is Subaru’s version of the 2027 Toyota Highlander and will be built alongside it in Kentucky with distinctive front end styling. Think of it as the electric alternative to the Subaru Ascent.
Subaru is launching it late this year with a version powered by a 95.8-kWh battery pack it says will be good for more than 300 miles of range. A 77-kWh model will be added next year, but its exact range has not yet been certified.
A 420 hp all-wheel-drive system is standard and can accelerate it to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. The Getaway is also rated to tow up to 3,500 pounds.

The Getaway will be offered in six-passenger and seven-passenger configurations across several trim levels It comes from the factory with a Tesla-style NACS charging port and is compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network. It can charge at up to a 150 kW rate and a charge from 10% to 80% full takes approximately a half-hour at a fast charging station.

Roof rails, heated seats in all rows and tri-zone climate control will be available on certain trims, all of which are equipped with the EyeSight package of electronic driver aids that includes automatic emergency brakes and lane-centering adaptive cruise control. Pricing will be announced closer to when deliveries begin.
