Sean Langdon has become the fastest drag racer in history.

The Kalitta Motorsports Top Fuel driver threw down a 345 mph run during the second round of qualifying for the Southern Nationals South Georgia Motorsports Park. Langdon beat Tony Schumacher with an elapsed time of 3.724 seconds.

The speed broke Brittany Force’s 343.51 mph record set last year at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis and is the fastest in any NHRA class.

Langdon’s teammate, Doug Kalitta, just set the track record at zMax Dragway in Charlotte with a 342.98 mph run during the finals of the Four-Wide Nationals, where he beat Langdon, Leah Pruett and Tony Stewart. That’s also the current order for the NHRA season standings.
