President Trump was at GM’s proving grounds in Michigan on Monday for an economic policy speech about his efforts to help the American auto industry — which just happened to come a few days before state’s upcoming primaries — and he got to check out some cool cars while he was there.
GM organized several drag races that pitted a Corvette Z06 against Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, a Hummer EV v Cadillac Escalade-V, a Corvette ZR1X v Corvette ZR1 and the Corvette ZR1X v the Hummer EV. If the winners aren’t obvious, they are listed first in each of the pairs.
GM’s CEO Mary Barra and President Mark Reuss also took him for a tour to show off a few vehicles, like the GM Defense Infantry Squad Vehicle it sells to the U.S. Army and a Cadillac Celestiq.
Parked among them was a white Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Stars & Steel Limited Edition, which is one of 250 that were built to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. The car features an appearance package with stylized American flag graphics and listed for around $100,000.

Trump signed the hood of the car, turning it into a true one-of-a-kind collectible. GM hasn’t yet said what it plans to do with it, but it could raise a lot of money for charity if it crossed an auction block.
A Stars & Steel Corvette ZR1X was sold this past weekend for $561,000 and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick paid $2.6 million for one earlier this year at a charity auction supporting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, but sports cars with Trump connections have also commanded high bids.
A 2007 Ferrari F430 that Trump once owned went for $999,999 in an online auction last year while his old 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster sold for $1.1 million at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction in 2024.
Not all of his former cars are as unattainable. A 2004 Lincoln Town Car limousine that he used when he was still making “The Apprentice” was auctioned for just $51,700 in 2024, although that is about five times the market rate for similar cars.
