Ford’s Veterans Day Classic Will Feature All-Star Drivers, Mustangs And The Zac Brown Band At Daytona

Ford will hold a special Veterans Day Classic race on the Daytona International Speedway road course on Nov. 11 to support the Blue Star Families charity.

The event will feature six Ford Mustang Dark Horse R race cars representing the six branches of the U.S. military and an all-star roster of drivers.

Each car will have two drivers assigned to it, and the first six from the Ford Racing stable have been confirmed as Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Noah Gragson, Logan Sargeant, Ben Hobson and Frankie Muniz. The day will include a tailgate party, car show, fan zones and concert by the Zac Brown Band.

General admission tickets are $110 with a portion of the proceeds going to Blue Star Families, and there’s a $305 VIP package with premium parking and concert viewing areas. A 20% discount is available to active duty military and Ford is donating 1,000 tickets to military and veteran families through its philanthropy partners.

The format of the race has yet to be finalized, but it is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Broadcast details will be announced closer to the event.

The Mustang Dark Horse R is a competition version of the Mustang Dark Horse that list for $145,000 and is featured in the Mustang Challenge and Mustang Cup one-make race series.

It’s based on the production Dark Horse R with the 500 hp 5.0-liter V8, but is race-prepped with a Borla exhaust, Recaro racing seat, upgraded Brembo brakes, adjustable Multimatic DSSV dampers and slick tires on 18.11-inch wheels.
