The Chevrolet Trailblazer has been updated for 2027 with the addition of a new trim level aimed at helping it live up to its name.

The subcompact crossover is being offered for the first time in a Z71 trim with all-wheel drive, sport-terrain tires, an off-road tuned suspension and an underbody skid plate. It’s not a hardcore 4×4, but offers light off-pavement capability similar to the discontinued Activ trim, which had a front-wheel-drive option.

The Trailblazer is also available in the base and street-style RS trims. All feature a mild exterior refresh and are powered by a turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine rated at 155 hp and 174 lb-ft. Front-wheel-drive trims get a continuously variable transmission while all-wheel-drive trims get a nine-speed automatic. The little guys are rated to tow up to 1,000 pounds.

A full package of electronic driver aids including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and Chevy’s Safety Alert Seat is standard across the board along with a new 11-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Google built-in, Gemini, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2027 Chevrolet Trax also gets all of this, a mild restyling and a lineup of base, RS and Activ trims.

Pricing for both of the South Korean-built models will be announced closer to when sales begin in the spring of 2027, but the 2026 starting prices are $23,495 for the Trax and $25,395 for the Trailblazer, making them Chevy’s most affordable models. In fact, the Trax is currently the lowest priced car sold by an American brand.
