Toyota is bringing a fleet of snowmobiles to the SEMA Show, but you can sit inside them where it’s warm.
The automaker put its CALTY Design Research in Ann Arbor, Mich., to work creating custom concept builds for the aftermarket parts showcase event and created the Snowhunter lineup of trucks.
Each has had its wheels and tires swapped for track systems with rubber tracks and frames painted white to match the fleet’s snow camo liveries, plus chassis upgrades to accommodate the conversion and a host of accessories. Here’s a look at each model:
TUNDRA SNOWHUNTER

Toyota’s idea of a full-size basecamp on wheels starts with the Tundra. CALTY’s TrailLift Pro Rack System Concept turns the bed into a covered modular platform for storage and gear, and the articulating top rack drops down to make it easier to load. TRD rear billet control arms, a Predator Step, and extra lighting round out a truck that’s meant to get you deep into the backcountry and then make staying there easy.
TACOMA SNOWHUNTER

The midsize Tacoma will get you down tighter trails than the Tundra. It carries a roof rack, a full-length bed rack with MOLLE panels, an awning, cargo storage, recovery gear, and bed lighting. That’s a lot of kit on a smaller truck, but it’s exactly what you’d want on tight, ever-changing winter trails where agility matters as much as raw capability.
4RUNNER SNOWHUNTER

The 4Runner has Toyota Genuine rock rails to protect the rocker panels, while a Prinsu roof rack with accessory panels and a Thule Pulse 2 cargo box handle the gear for longer backcountry runs.
LAND CRUISER SNOW HUNTER

Few nameplates carry the global exploration cred of the Land Cruiser, and this winter-minded take leans right into it. It gets Toyota Genuine rock rails and skid plates, a Prinsu roof rack with accessory panels, and a Thule SnowPack ski rack.
SEQUIOA SNOWHUNTER

The Sequoia brings three rows of space and real winter chops together. A TRD front skid plate, Toyota Genuine cast aluminum running boards, a Prinsu roof rack with accessory panels, and a Thule Pulse 2 cargo box show how it could handle everything from a family getaway to a trip deep into the wild.
