And you thought your Chevrolet Silverado HD was a big truck.

A custom 1972 C50 medium duty truck was sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale event for $875,000. The pickup was created by California shop Cars by Constance from a C50 dump truck that was restored and modified.

It features a Chevy C10 bed customized with the front fenders from a C50, 22.5-inch polished Alcoa wheels with Michelin Super Singles tires and its original 350-cubic-inch V8, which has been equipped with high performance Edelbrock intake, Cold Case radiator and Pertronix ignition updates.

The engine breathes through a MagnaFlow exhaust and sends its power to the rear wheels through a fresh TH400 three-speed transmission.

Sidesteps were fabricated to make it easier to get into the high-rider and the bed floor is finished with stained wood and chrome strips.

The truck is coated in Root Beer paint and the metal dashboard in a tasty mix of Root Beer and Red Candy to offset the saddle leather upholstery.

The dashboard is a mix of factory design and modern upgrades, including a slide-out Pioneer touchscreen audio and infotainment system interface.

While the work put into the truck might alone have justified the price paid for it, it was sold for a cause as a charity lot, with all of the money earmarked for the ForeBatten Foundation, which supports research into treatments and a cure for Juvenile Batten disease.

The C50 wasn’t the only high-dollar Chevy charity auction at the event, however. NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick paid $2.6 million for a one-of-a-kind Corvette ZR1X Starts and Steel special edition car, which celebrates the USA’s 250th anniversary.

The money raised is going to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which provides housing assistance for the families of fallen first responders and veterans, catastrophically injured first responders and veterans and homeless veterans.
