NASCAR Cup Series drivers will be racing against each other and the rain on Sunday.
The Daytona 500 start time has been changed from 2:30 p.m. ET to 1:30 p.m. ET due to a weather forecast that calls for precipitation in the evening. The race will still be broadcast live on Fox at the new time.
The regular season kick-off race boasts a $31,045,575 purse that will be payed out to the teams, which NASCAR claims is an all-time record for motorsports.
Kyle Busch will be starting from pole position for the first time in 21 appearances in the race with Chase Briscoe joining him on the front row. Daytona Duel winners Joey Logano and Chase Elliott will line up behind them in the second row.
The Daytona 500 will feature 41 starters for the second year in a row as Jimmie Johnson has opted to use the Open Exemption Provisional entry that was implemented last year. It guarantees a starting position for a notable driver, but neither they nor their car can earn points or a portion of the purse.
Johnson announced on Saturday that his last race in a Cup Series car will be the 2027 Daytona 500.
