Ram is expanding its factory off-road 1500 lineup with the new BackCountry. The trim slots into the lineup above the Warlock and lists for $62,410.

The BackCountry package is a $2,995 add-on to the 1500 Big Horn 4×4 Crew Cab with Level 1 Equipment Group and comes with a 1-inch suspension lift, heavy duty shock absorbers, skid plates, front tow hooks, a rear e-locker, 18-inch satin black wheels with 32-inch all-terrain tires and Ram’s Selec-Speed off-road low-speed cruise control.

Styling updates include black fender flares, a body-color grille frame, Diamond Black Crystal Pearl-Coat bumpers and rocker panels, black badges, vinyl bucket seats with mesh fabric inserts, all-weather floor mats and MOLLE panels on the seatbacks.

It’s being offered with either the Ram 1500’s 395 hp 5.7-liter Hemi V8 eTorque or 420 hp 3.0-liter Hurricane turbocharged straight six.

“The off‑road segment has been growing for a while now and Ram has been leading that charge with Warlock, Rebel, RHO and TRX,” Tim Kuniskis, head of the American Stellantis brands, said in a news release.

“BackCountry is another option from Ram for customers looking to get into this growing part of the market without breaking the bank.”
