America’s second-best selling truck is getting a major makeover.
The all-new 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 lineup has been revealed and it’s hauling some new motors into showrooms with it.
The full-size trucks will be available with four engine options across its range that includes today’s TurboMax 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and DuraMax 3.0-liter straight-six turbodiesel along with two new V8s.
The V8s are 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter variants of the sixth-generation small block engine that debuted with the 2027 Corvette as a 6.7-liter.

Chevrolet hasn’t announced their horsepower ratings yet, but promises that the 6.6-liter will be the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in the light duty truck class. That title currently belongs to the 2026 Silverado’s 420 hp 6.2-liter V8.

Ram recently revealed its new 1500 Rumble Bee 392 muscle truck with a 470 hp 6.4-liter V8, but Chevrolet has not clarified if that is the target. The Corvette’s 6.7-liter V8 is rated at 535 hp.

The Silverado 1500 will be offered in seven trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, Silverado — which replaces LT — High Country and the lifted Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss and ZR2.

The styling is an evolution of the current Silverado 1500’s with rectangular grilles and C-shaped running lights wrapping the headlights, but slim light bars have been added above them that give it a face similar to the Chevrolet Tahoe’s.

The interior features widescreen digital displays for the instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system across the lineup, while the High Country and ZR2 add a third screen for the front seat passenger.
A full list of features is yet to come, but the High Country introduces a new Multi-Flex Console storage compartment between the front seats that has a configurable lid and the Silverado’s first full glass roof.

The off-road performance ZR2 sticks with the standard width body and Multimatic DSSV suspension, but now rides on 35-inch mud-terrain tires. Front and rear locking differentials are standard and the ZR2 Bison will once again be offered with AEV-designed steel bumpers, additional underbody protection and 18-inch beadlock capable wheels.

Chevrolet is making the Z71 off-road suspension package standard on all of the other four-wheel-drive models and the Trail Bosses get two-inch suspension lifts and a set of 34-inch mud-terrain tires.
Chevrolet will be rolling out more information about the trucks, including power and pricing, as it approaches the start of production and deliveries late this year.
