The new Dodge Charger is a very quick car, but it hasn’t exactly been flying off dealer lots.
Dodge sold 4,583 Chargers through the first half of the year as production ramped up, but there are more than that in inventory right now and it needs to move them out before the 2027 models arrive, so it’s bringing back is Power Dollar incentive promotion for a limited time.
Dodge first offered Power Dollars in 2019 by giving buyers a $10 cash allowance for each horsepower a car had and the deal is the same today.
The 420 hp Charger R/T gets $4,200 and the 550 hp Charger Scat Pack $5,500, it’s that simple. That brings the base prices down to $47,990 for the R/T and $52,990 for the Scat Pack. The promotion only runs through Aug. 3, however, so you’ll need to be as fast as the cars to get it.
Both models feature turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engines and come with a standard all-wheel-drive system that has a rear-wheel drive setting. The Charger R/T can run a 12.9 second quarter-mile, while the Scat Pack can do it in 12.2 seconds.
The trims remain the same for 2027, but Dodge will also be adding a Charger SRT to the mix. It hasn’t confirmed what kind of engine it will have, but it will definitely be much more powerful and more info about it is likely to be released at the Roadkill Nights event on Aug. 8.
We did get a look at the car, however, and it is equipped with an aggressive front splitter and a large rear wing similar to the 1969 Charger Daytona’s. Regardless of what’s under the hood, don’t expect to see any money on top of it … yet.
