NASCAR is heading back to Chicagoland Speedway in 2027 instead of the Chicago Street Course.
The Cup Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and ARCA will visit the 1.5-mile oval the weekend of June 25-27.
NASCAR ran at the track from 2001-2019 before spending three years on the streets of The Windy City from 2023-2025. The high costs and logistics of running a race on a temporary circuit in the middle of Chicago led it back to Chicagoland this year, although a return to the downtown venue is still under consideration for the future.
Chase Briscoe was the winner of this year’s Chicagoland race that was held on July 4th weekend, which has been given to Iowa Speedway next year.
NASCAR has also announced that the season finale will remain at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2027 and run on Nov. 14. It is returning to the 1.5-mile oval this year for the first time since 2019 when Kyle Busch won the championship under the old playoffs format.
Twenty-five of the 2027 Cup Series points race weekends have been confirmed so far, along with the Wheatley Vodka Clash and All-Star Race.
