The first production diesel Ram Power Wagon is on its way to showrooms and is a very modern truck, but there’s a way to turn back the clock and get one that looks like a post-war pickup.

North Carolina-based boutique custom truck outfit Desert Power Wagons recently finished a four-door crew cab that took over 1,500 hours to build. It’s done in Jupiter Red, and it’s meant to work as both a trail rig and a daily driver.

The truck starts with a Tisdale Coachworks crew cab chassis with rear suicide doors. The body is painted Mercedes-Benz Jupiter Red with gloss black fenders and running boards.

Under the hood is the High Output 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel, rated at 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. It runs through a TorqueFlite 8HP75-LCV 8-speed shift-by-wire automatic, with traction control, hill start assist and hill descent control for off-road work.

A BorgWarner BW 44-48 transfer case handles shift-on-the-fly transitions between two- and four-wheel drive. Heavy-duty Magneti Marelli shocks with Koni Frequency Selective Damping valving are fitted front and rear, and there’s a 12,000-pound WARN winch mounted up front.

The truck rides on 20-inch Black Rhino Armory wheels wrapped in 40-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Legend MTZ tires.

Inside, the build uses a complete 2025 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Limited Longhorn interior, fitted into the wider, longer Desert Power Wagon cabin. The seats are distressed Pinecone leather, heated and ventilated up front, with a heated 60/40 split-folding rear bench.

The dash is leather-trimmed, the headliner is Alcantara, and the sound system is a Focal setup. It also has a 14.4-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, a 360-degree camera system, heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control and power-adjustable pedals.

Interested? Unfortunately, it’s already sold, but Desert Power Wagons could recreate something just like it for … hold on to your checkbook … $425,000
