Ram has opened the order books for its first diesel Power Wagon pickup.
The 2027 Ram 2500 Power Wagon with the Cummins H.O straight-six engine lists for $89,560, including destination fees. Pricing for the 6.4-liter V8 option has not been announced, but the 2026 model lists for $76,045.
The turbocharged 6.7-liter diesel is rated at 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft. The truck can tow 19,639 pounds and carry a 2,930-pound payload. It drinks from a 31-gallon tank and the truck is outfitted with nearly the full array of Power Wagon off-road equipment. That includes standard four-wheel-drive, solid axles with electronic locking differentials, a disconnecting front sway bar, Bilstein monotube dampers, 34-inch all-terrain tires, rock rails, a full array of skid plates and steel bumpers.
The only thing missing is the factory winch, which the diesel’s cooling requirements couldn’t accommodate. This is a key reason why Ram hasn’t offered a diesel Power Wagon in the past, despite customer demand, so Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis told the team, “screw it, get rid of the winch.” It hasn’t given up on it, however, and a solution is still in development.

The diesel Power Wagon’s ground clearance is an inch shorter than the V8 model’s, but it’s still 13.2 inches between the axles and comes with a 26 degree approach angle and 26.1-degree departure angle.

Several options packages are offered that can add leather upholstery, upgraded audio, a 360-degree camera system, semi-automated trailer reverse steering control and other upscale features that can push the price to more than $100,000 with all of the boxes checked when shipments begin in the coming weeks.
