The 2027 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is out earning its Trail Rating.
Jeep has released a video of the upcoming model being tested in an off-road desert setting.
The black vehicle features redesigned front and rear lower fascias that provide improved approach and departure angles and is equipped with two orange recovery hooks up front.
It appears to have increased ground clearance as well, and a shot showing it cresting a hill reveals some of its underbody protection.
The suspension does not appear to be significantly redesigned, however, and still provides the sort of limited articulation expected from a crossover SUV, while it rides on 17-inch wheels with 65-series all-terrain tires.
Jeep hasn’t confirmed what the powertrain will be, but all of the current models in the Cherokee lineup come standard with a hybrid setup built around a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder that’s rated at 210 hp and 230 lb-ft and gets 37 mpg combined with standard all-wheel drive.
One thing we can confirm is that this Cherokee Trailhawk will be discontinued in 2029, when Jeep launches a next-generation 2030 Cherokee built in Illinois instead of Mexico, where the model is assembled today.
