The Best-Selling Pickups In The USA So Far In 2026 – Ford, GM and Toyota Lead The Way

Ford and General Motors can each stake a claim to the full-size pickup sales crown for the first three quarters of 2026.

The Ford F-Series – light and heavy duty combined – is tops among individual brands with 561,508 delivered through September, despite a 9.5% drop from last year that was largely due to a shortage of the aluminum used for its body. That beat the Chevy Silverado’s 413,383 and the Ram pickup’s 325,348. Ram’s light duty trucks got a big boost from the reintroduction of a V8 engine option and grew 41% year-over-year.

However, when you add the GMC Sierra’s 252,639 deliveries to the Silverado’s it gives GM a grand tally of 666,022 and the overall lead. For those who don’t know, the Silverado and Sierra are mechanically identical trucks that are differentiated by styling and trim. Sales of both were also down this year as GM prepares to launch all-new next generation trucks in the coming months.

The Tundra finished fourth with a flat 110,080 deliveries, but the model is capacity constrained and Toyota has been satisfied to keep production at that consistent rate for years. Things are much different for the Tacoma.

Toyota sold 214,875 of the midsize pickups, which was nearly triple the second-place Chevrolet Colorado’s 72,863. The Nissan Frontier saw an astonishing 39.6% bump to take third on the list with 66,513 ahead of the fourth-place Ford Ranger’s 51,630, while the Honda Ridgeline’s 37,028 bested the GMC Canyon’s 33,545.

The sales race wasn’t even close in the compact segment, where the Ford Maverick led the Hyundai Santa Cruz 123,681 to 14,811.

Of course, there are a few all-electric pickups on sale, but Rivian and Tesla don’t break out their sales figures, so it’s hard to compare. For what it’s worth, Chevrolet delivered 5,327 Silverado EVs and GMC 4,705 Sierra EVs plus some Hummer EV pickups, but the Hummer’s published 5,024 total includes SUVs. There will be two more soon, as the Slate and Ford Fathom are set to go on sale over the coming year.
