The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (NOAPS) at Texas Motor Speedway on will be a two horse show, but there won’t be any ponies in it.
The preliminary entry list for the Andy’s Frozen Custard 340 on May 2 was released today and none of the Ford Mustang teams are on it.
It’s all Chevrolet and Toyota, which have dominated the entries in 2026 as Ford’s effort has contracted to just two small teams, AM Racing and Hettinger Racing.
AM Racing hasn’t appeared since Martinsville in March, while Hettinger’s No. 5 car has been the only Ford in the races since then. Neither Hettinger or Ford has yet commented on its absence from the Texas race.

According to “NASCAR Stat Guy” Seth Eggert, Texas will mark the first NOAPS race without a ford since Martinsville in 1991.
Ford lost the Haas Factory Team and RSS Racing this year to Chevrolet and hasn’t appeared to be putting a major effort to revive its presence in the series as it focuses on its Cup Series and Truck Series teams.
Chandler Smith is currently on top of the Truck Series standings with Front Row Motorsports, while Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney is third in the Cup Series.
By the way, if you were wondering why the race changed from last year, when it was the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300, it’s not because it’s longer. It’s called the 340 this year in honor of the sponsor’s 40th anniversary, but is still a 300-mile race.
