Defending NHRA Top Fuel champion Doug Kalitta won the Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway in Charlotte with a new track record speed.

The 61-year-old put down a run of 3.692 seconds at 342.98 mph, which is the third-fastest anywhere in series history and beat Brittany Force’s 341.59 mph speed during qualifying in 2025, which was the first Top Fuel car to break the 340 mph barrier. Force’s elapsed time was quicker at 3.667 seconds, however.

Kalitta beat Shawn Langdon and the married couple of Leah Pruett and Tony Stewart in the final.

“Alan [Johnson, Kalitta’s crew chief] thought it was going to run over 340 mph, so that was good. I don’t know how he predicts these things, but the guy’s a wizard tuning these cars and I’m just very, very fortunate,” Kalitta told NHRA.com.

The Top Fuel record across all tracks stands at 343.51 mph, which Brittany Force set during the 2025 U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.
