Jaguar And Land Rover May Team Up With Dodge And Jeep On American-Designed Cars And SUVs

Jaguar Type 01 and Dodge Charger

Stellantis and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) have signed a memorandum of understanding to look into ways they can collaborate on developing vehicles and technology together in the USA, the companies announced on Wednesday.

“By working with partners to explore synergies in areas such as product and technology development, we can create meaningful benefits for both sides while remaining focused on delivering the products and experiences our customers love,” Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa said in a news release.

“As we continue to evolve JLR for the future, collaboration will play an important role in unlocking new opportunities. Working with Stellantis allows us to explore complementary capabilities in product and technology development that support our long‑term growth plans for the US market,” JLR CEO PB Balaji added.

The potential partnership would see direct competitors Jeep and Land Rover working together, while Dodge, Chrysler and Jaguar would also find themselves on the same team. Having just entered the exploratory stage, nothing has yet been finalized.

Details beyond announcing the agreement were not shared and no mention was made regarding production, but JLR currently imports all of its vehicles into the U.S. from various locations in Europe, which subjects them to significant tariffs. Jaguar’s vehicle production is currently on hiatus as it prepares to launch the electric Type 01 and begins a planned transition toward an all-electric lineup.

Stellantis will be holding its Investor Day presentation at its U.S. headquarters in Auburn Hills, Mich., on Thursday, May 21, and more details may be shared during the event.
