Cadillac’s V-Series.R endurance racing car is taking a detour off of the track.
The IMSA GTP and WEC Hypercar entry has spawned the V-One Concept track day car that is making its public debut at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in California.
The carbon fiber V-One is a nearly identical version of the V-Series.R that features an identical body, complete with a downforce-producing wing and large vertical stabilizer fin.
The 5.5-liter V8-based hybrid powertrain carries over intact, but Cadillac was able to boost the output from 670 hp to 830 hp, since it doesn’t have to meet any series regulations. All of it is sent to the rear wheels through an Xtrac seven-speed automated-manual sequential gearbox.

The interior has fewer controls, but the same basic layout as the racing car’s. The flat-top yoke-style steering wheel has a data display embedded in its hub and buttons for the radio, pit speed limiter and other crucial functions. Cadillac went with a low-key, two-tone hand-painted, silver and navy gradient scheme and black wheels.
“The Cadillac V-ONE Concept is the ultimate manifestation of a customer performance concept and is a clear sign of our ambition for the Cadillac V-Series brand in the future,” Dominic Najafi, Executive Design Director, Global Cadillac, said in a news release.
A production version has not yet been confirmed, but Ferrari and Aston Martin both sell versions of their WEC Hypercars in the $3.5 million to $5 million price range, so Cadillac stands to make a pretty penny if it opens up the order books.
While not street legal, it would be the automaker’s only performance coupe. Its lineup will soon be comprised solely of SUVs and the CT5 sedan, which is being redesigned next year.
