The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Is Worth $605,000 Now

The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X may be the most expensive car that qualifies as a steal. The in-demand 1,250 hp model has been selling at auctions for far above its original $207,395 base price.

A heavily optioned example with a sticker price of $249,018 was sold on the Bring a Trailer auction website in March for $356,000, which set a record at the time, but did have a $20,000 charitable donation baked into the price.

That has now been eclipsed by almost double with the sale of a Corvette ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition Convertible at the recent Mecum Auctions Indy event.

Chevrolet made fewer than 100 of the special trims available for order, each finished in Blade Silver Matte paint, which is matched with a grey interior accented by orange seat belts. The cars are specified in the 3LZ trim and equipped with the optional ZTK Performance Package for a $241,395 advertised price.

The car crossed the block with just 6 miles on its odometer and went for more than 100,000 times that figure at $605,000. Unfortunately, the buyer is also on the hook with any mechanical issues that arise, because Chevrolet voids the warranty if the Corvette ZR1X is resold within a year of its original purchase, in an effort to prevent flipping.

It’s a plan that failed miserably this time around, but Chevrolet may have finally realized it’s been selling the Corvette ZR1X short, because it raised the base price to $227,395 for 2027.
