The 2026 Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC is a powerful pony.
The new model’s supercharged 5.2-liter V8 has been officially rated at 795 hp and 660 lb-ft.
Both are significantly higher than the 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500’s version of the engine, which was rated at 760 hp and 625 lb-ft.
Crucially, perhaps, the horsepower figure is below the top of the line Mustang GTD’s 815 hp, although the supercharged 5.2-liter in that model is rated at 664 lb-ft.

Ford hasn’t released any performance specifications for the Dark Horse SC, but the Shelby GT500 could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and cover a quarter-mile in 10.7 seconds, according to Ford.
The Dark Horse SC is very much a Shelby GT500 successor and also uses an updated version of the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that model was equipped with.
