Ram is adding a heavy hitter to its law enforcement vehicle lineup.
The Ram 2500 Emergency Response Vehicle has been outfitted for law enforcement, fire, rescue and emergency response agencies and has been deemed the first heavy duty pursuit capable truck in the Michigan State Police’s benchmark annual evaluation.
The crew cab 2500 ERV is powered by a 6.4-liter V8 rated at 405 hp and 420 lb-ft and equipped with four-wheel-drive, a 4:10 rear axle and limited-slip differential.
During the test, it accelerated to 60 mph in an average of 8.41 seconds, to 100 mph in 20.40 seconds and completed 32 laps of Grattan Raceway without any failures, which are all requirements to meet the pursuit capable criteria.

The 2500 ERV has a payload capacity of 3,320 pounds. It doesn’t have a formal tow rating, but a similarly specified 2500 Tradesman is rated for 17,230 pounds.

The 2500 ERV also gets durable and easy to clean vinyl upholstery and flooring, 18-inch steel wheels, a transfer case skid plate, dual alternators and a vehicle system interface module for mission-specific equipment.
Ram doesn’t list an MSRP and pricing varies with he size of the fleet contract, but the 2500 Tradesman 4×4 starts around $50,000.
